apibrėžtis Labiausiai nutolusi nuo branduolinio sprogimo epicentro (antžeminio ar antvandeninio kontaktinio sprogimo centro) radioaktyviosios taršos zona, kurioje dozės galia 1 val. po sprogimo svyruoja nuo 30 rd/h (cGy/h) išorinėje zonos riboje iki 100 rd/h (cGy/h) vidinėje zonos riboje. Šioje zonoje karinių vienetų veiksmai turi būti nutraukiami kelioms valandoms, kariai slepiasi apsauginiuose įrenginiuose ir statiniuose arba išvedami iš užterštos vietovės. Vidutinės radioaktyviosios taršos zonos riba žemėlapiuose (schemose) žymima juoda spalva.
